Instigate Change is a grant program of theCoup to support social justice campaigns. We will match ourselves with one grantee to provide strategy and design for a print or web project. The grant aims to help a nonprofit or activist group increase the impact of their campaign.
2008 cycle is now closed. Check back in the spring of 2009. View the 2008 application or download a PDF about the grant.
Interested groups should propose a focused project that will best improve their campaign. A few examples of projects:

The grantee will collaborate with theCoup to develop a specific project. The grant does not include a specific cash award, but instead our dedication, time, and tools. We can work together to find a way to cover a printing costs etcetera. The scope, value, and nature of the award will adapt to the grantee’s proposal.
We invite applications from social justice groups and nonprofits with passion and proven experience executing meaningful campaigns.
We are committed to helping your work in your community. We do have a preference for domestic rather than international projects. We also prefer to address neglected social justice issues and campaigns with the potential for lasting impact.
We will review proposals and select a project based on the following criteria:
